God Promises : He Will Never Leave You

God promises that He will never forsake or leave us.You have probably heard people say that God is always with you.  That’s hard concept to understand, isn’t it?  But it should be a comforting one – you are secure in God’s abiding presence because He is eternal , and is eternally present in your life.  Because God is eternal, He has been there since the beginning of your life and will be there to see it through to the end – a promise of His love , guidance and protection that no one else can make !  Isn’t it a joy to know that you can rely on Him to be there , a guiding force and comfort no matter what, for as long as you live and into the eternal?

Sometimes He may seem far away, perhaps because you are going through a difficult time or because you’ve been too busy to go to church for a few Sundays or because you’ve felt too unhappy to pray properly.  That’s okay, because even when you feel like God’s face is hidden from you, He is still watching over you.  You aren’t hidden from Him !  Even when the sun is hidden by the clouds, it is still there, keeping the earth in its orbit.

God is never far away, even when you don’t feel close to Him because you are upset or feel sorrow – because God isn’t in a far away Heaven in the clouds. God’s Spirit is within you and accompanies you everywhere you go.  St. Patrick wrote a hymn that went,

“Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort me and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me.”

St. Patrick understood that God’s Spirit permeates our souls and wasn’t a distant, impersonal presence far away from us.  There is strength that comes from knowing that God’s spirit is within you and accompanies you everywhere you go.

Remind yourself that God will never leave you and you will have the courage to face anything.  God’s presence isn’t conditional – it isn’t based on how good we are or whether we’ve gone to church or whether we’ve done something really wrong this month.  God is simply always there, always loving us, always waiting for us to reach out to Him, ready to catch us when we fall.

Every morning before you start your day, say the following prayer for protection by James Dillet Freeman:

“The light of God surrounds me;
The love of God enfolds me;
The power of God protects me;
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am , God is !

God is your ever-present help through it all.  Where you are, God is and all is well.

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will help you.  I will uphold you with my victorious right hand”
( Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

God never abandons you because He is within you.  He doesn’t promise to be with you if you do this or that, He doesn’t tell you when He will be with you. He simply says, “I am with you.”  And that is everything you will ever need !

God and Time : Wait On God’s Perfect Timing

Waiting is one of the most difficult things to do, whether we’re waiting for a bus, a phone call or an answered prayer. God and time is about patience , obedience and trusting Him.  We become impatient and wonder why everyone else is holding us up and keeping us from getting what we want.  It seems like the more we want something, the harder it is to wait – and we even get impatient with God!

But we have to remember that God’s timing is different than our own.  He sees things from a different perspective and sees the whole picture, not just what we want, but what is best for us in the grand plan for our lives.  All is part of a divine order and will be done in its own right and proper time.  Of course, when we are hoping, praying and waiting for something, it’s easy to forget this.  After all, waiting is “remaining inactive in one place while expecting something.”  And being inactive means feeling powerless and at the mercy of the world – nobody likes that feeling.  But we must keep in mind God’s greater plan and his perfect timing:

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”
(Romans 8:28)

“Trust in Him at all times, O people.”
(Psalm 62:8)

What are YOU Waiting For?

What are you waiting for in your life?  A new job, financial security, healing, a baby, a restored marriage?  It seems that no matter where we are in our lives, we are waiting for something in the future.  Our lives are never stagnant; if we are moving forward, there is always something to expect or wait for around the next bend in the road of our lives.

There are many stories of “waiting” in the Bible.  In some stories, the waiting seemed to last forever, while others only waited a few intense moments.  The key to waiting is not the length of time but how we handle the wait.  The Bible teaches us that we should “wait on the Lord.”  We must look with confidence and expectation toward the future, trusting that God will fulfill our waiting in good and proper time.

There are three actions that will help you wait on the Lord patiently and with faith, knowing and believing that He will help:

1.  Trust – If we doubt God’s willingness to hear and answer our prayer, we may begin to feel bitter when we think God has heard our prayer but is silent.  Scripture teaches us that God is unchangeable, which means He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and we can always rely on Him to provide the best possible path for our lives!  God said that He will never leave us or forsake us.  If He seems silent now, it is because He has another plan, different timing or a way to answer our prayer that has not been revealed to us yet.  We must trust in His plan.

2.  Resist – We must resist the temptation to take matters into our own hands.  Patience is powerful.  Having patience is essential in many circumstances and the Holy Spirit is here to fill us with this patience when we feel we cannot wait another minute on God.  The safest place we can rest is in God’s Will.  When we rest here, resisting temptation is easy.

3.  Pray – How many times have you given a prayer request to God and felt He was deaf?  During these times, you need to keep on praying, but pray the right way.  God always answers our prayers, but it may not be the way we want Him or expect Him to.  It may be a yes, a no or something better.  When we don’t immediately get the answer we want, we have a tendency to repeat the same prayer over and over until we either lose our voice or simply give up.  After we have given our need to the Lord, we must turn our request into a “Thank you,” and an attitude of expectancy, and say, “Not my will, but Yours, Lord.”  When we thank the Lord in advance for answering our prayers, it is an active display of our faith that demonstrates to God our confident expectation that His awesome power will provide for us.

This Prayer can help you as you wait on God’s perfect timing:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I have been waiting for ________________ for so long now, and I come before You today to ask your help.
I pray that You will increase my faith and patience so that I will put my whole trust in your perfect timing and plan for my life.
I will put my complete trust in You with confidence and eager expectation of Your answer, whatever that answer may be and whenever that answer may come.
Thank you that you are always with me.
Thank you that You hear my prayers and will answer in Your time and in Your way.
You, Lord, are without limits.
Thank You for Your unfailing word and that You always keep Your promises to me.
I believe with my heart, mind and soul Your plan for my life is the best one possible and I thank You for Your answer.
Being in Your will is the safest place I can ever reside.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Trust God : Keep the Faith During Challenging Times

Trusting in God is the only option that we can count on in hard times. Right now either start or develop a closer relationship with God. The only one you can totally trust and have complete faith in  is God. God is our constant companion, who leads us on a sure and steady path. The God who delivered you yesterday will deliver you from your hard times and circumstances today and tomorrow.  Keep the  faith.  God’s love and power and mighty presence empowers us to win over worry, doubt, fear and hard times.  God said, “that I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you”
— 1 Peter 5:7

God said that I am :

Jehovah Jireh: “I am your provider”
Jehovah Shamah: “I am there”
Jehovah Shalom: “I am your peace”

God’s mighty presence is with us in all circumstances and conditions at all times and in all places. Any adversity that we may face gives God the opportunity for us to experience a greater peace , love and understanding .

God never promised that we would be exempt from pain, sorrow or hard times, but He did promise to help us through those times if we place our trust in Him.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you.  He will be with
you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you.”
-Deuteronomy 31:8

God is faithful, reliable and dependable. Where God guides He will provide. You can’t count on anybody but God. He is our rescuer, protection, and provider.  When we experience hard times and struggle in our lives, God ask us to trust and honor Him as Jehovah Jireh the God who provides all that we truly need.

When we experience hard times and difficult situations it is very important to focus. It is human nature to focus on the words “Why”, “How”, “When” during  challenging times in our lives.  God want you to focus on Him- the “Who” that will help and see you through hard times and struggle.

No matter what you may be going through trust in God “Who” knows the end from the beginning and is the ultimate problem-solver and way maker. Focus on the “Who” which is God because our best days are ahead of us .God is still in control. Keep the faith and Believe in God.

Healing : God is a Healer

“Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and healing shall spring up quickly.”
– Isaiah 58:8

When someone you love is sick or when you are sick, you should pray for God’s healing power to wash over you. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t see a doctor or take full advantage of all of the opportunities that medical science has to offer.  Always consult with a medical professional regarding your health problems. I don’t recommend abandoning medical or surgical treatments and using only prayer; I feel that a complimentary approach is best. The combination of medicine and prayer can be very powerful and I think a lot of people today misunderstand and think that we can’t use both.

Through prayer, we acknowledge that there is a greater wisdom and higher power than anything on earth. We get in touch with that power and ask that god bring miracles and His love into our lives, but we don’t have to turn our backs on the rich and varied medical traditions available here on earth when we do pray, because God heals in many ways:

God heals through doctors and nurses. He has given these professionals their God-given talents and abilities so that, through them, he can touch the lives of people every day in millions of ways both great and small. It is one of the main reasons he creates each of us with unique talents and interests – so that each of us can become someone special and unique who will touch others and, in some cases, heal others.

So when we pray, we should pray that God will guide the hearts and hands of the doctors, nurses and surgeons who are taking care of our loves ones or ourselves.

God can perform miracles of healing. Although we may find it difficult to ask for a miracle, God rejoices in our faith when we believe that He can cure the hopelessly sick and He sometimes does perform miracles. Ask and don’t be afraid – God listens to our prayers.

God heals by providing comfort and strength. Not every patient recovers and not everyone is healed; that is what we sometimes find most unfathomable about God’s ways. While many people recover from an illness, some do not. But the power of prayer is amazing! Even doctors and researchers have confirmed that people who pray feel less pain and are stronger and more at peace than those who don’t. Perhaps we need to look at the power of prayer in this light – God heals us not only when He heals our illness, but when He touches us to take away the hurt and bring us spiritual comfort and ease. His love touches us not only physically but spiritually and emotionally.

Remember that God is the supreme healer and pray for His intercession:

Let Us Pray-  The God Who Heals

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are my help in every need. I know that nothing is too hard for you. Heavenly Father, I am praying and believing now for the complete healing and restoration of (fill-in-the-blank with your health concerns). Help those who are caring for me; guide their hearts and hands as they care for me. Grant me the peace and strength I need to cope in the days ahead.
Knowing my oneness with you, Heavenly Father, I experience true healing.
Thank you, Lord, for sending your word and your healing power.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

With absolute faith and trust in God, we affirm oneness with the mighty healing power of God. Thank You, God , for healing us in every needed way. We are healthy and strong because of  our Heavenly Father.

God is Always With You

Many of us have heard the poem about the man who walked along the beach and saw a second pair of footprints in the sand. He was told the second pair of footprints was God. But then he became angry, as he realized that there were times when only one set of footprints was there. Where was God for him them? “It was then that I carried you”” God replied. Learning to have that trust in God is so valuable not only for our Faith, but also our peace of mind. When you live knowing that you are held by the hands of God at all times,  you breathe a little easier, sleep a little sounder and worry just a little less?   Because you trust in God to always be there for you – and most importantly to never leave. God is always with you.

Psalm 71:5 says: “For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust from my youth and the source of my confidence.

” Perhaps you know someone in your life that has this trust in God that I speak of and you are reminded of what a powerful source God can be. Now does this mean that life is always smooth? Does this mean that life is always full of joy and things always turning out exactly as we’d like? Well, it probably doesn’t. But when you have God in your life – that trust in God is a bigger winning than any lottery winnings ever could be. The man or the woman that wins the lottery can spend down their winnings in a year or several years. The good job you have can go away. People can and do let us down. But we can trust that God will always be there. God is always with you through the storms and the rain.

But not only will God be there through the “storms and the rain,” He’ll also be there through the good times too. Sometimes it is during the bad times that we feel our Faith is the most tested. These times temptations come for us to truly live our Faith and not take an easy way out. Do you still continue to tithe your income even after getting a big raise? Or would you take a luxury vacation if it only meant lying to a loved one? When you have many of the “good things” in your life there are two types of people: the one that is eager to share this life with others and the person who is completely afraid that something could come and take this good life away from them. The person eager to share the good life trusts in God and is generous and kind. They help others in their church and community. The person who is afraid others would take “the good life” away from them through trickery not only doesn’t trust other people – but they don’t trust themselves and most importantly they don’t have that deep trust in God. If they could open their hearts to have a trust in God they would feel peace and could enjoy their good lives and would feel inspired to help others in the individual way that means the most to them — not in a way that feels forced or false.

Psalm 37:5 says “Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.”

When you trust in God, you know that no matter what comes: everything will be alright. No matter what type of trouble you are carrying God will help you carry it.God is always with you to see you through.

God is Hope : Believe in God Completely

Did you know that the same voice that uttered the words that created the universe  is present in the Bible? Did you know that God’s written word is as powerful as His spoken words? Did you know that God’s word doesn’t come back to Him void and powerless? Make no mistake about it, God’s words have power. They have a life of their own. This might be hard to believe for even many Christians because, let’s face it, life gets really rough,  and it is so easy to give in to the temptation of thinking that we’re alone in this world. God is hope. Life can be so alienating sometimes that it is so easy to feel disconnected from God and His Word. We are tempted, like Thomas, to only believe if there are certain things we can see. However, this is the challenge of hope. We have to continue striving in belief even if things look hopeless and there are no visible signs that our deliverance from whatever challenges we face is forthcoming. Here are two reasons why God is our hope and why we need to believe His promises to carry us through. It is only when we fully trust Him can we have real hope. Believe in God completely to see you through life’s circumstances and challenges.

“Hope and faith in God grows during our times of adversity”
–Robert Moment

God’s Word delivered in the Past

We only need to read through the Bible and its numerous instances of God coming through even when things seemed hopeless and impossible. Take the case of Gideon. This powerful Hebrew judge was introduced to us as a cowering person unsure of himself, his strength, and his place in the world. Sound familiar? Still, the angel of the Lord greeted him with the words ‘mighty man of valor.’ These were God’s words. These words didn’t match Gideon’s view of himself or seeming reality but God had better things planned for Gideon. He went on to lead Israel in an improbably victory against all odds. How much more can God work wonders in your life even if you feel the odds are against you? God did the same for seemingly lowly characters like David (he was the youngest of Jesse’s sons and a mere shepherd), Sarah (she laughed at the possibility of her getting pregnant), Hannah (she endured the bitterness of infertility), and many others. God delivered despite what ‘conventional wisdom’ or ‘reality’ said. Throughout it all, He stuck by His Word and His promises. When He makes a promise He delivered.

God delivers now

Look around you, God continues to deliver. Stop looking for Red Seas parting-although unexplained natural events still do happen-but look at the microcosm of people’s individual lives. Every single day, people who used to grapple with addictions, psychological bondage, bad attitudes, and other personal hindrances shake off their invisible chains when they accept Jesus Christ. Jesus’ saving grace continues to turn prostitutes, addicts, cheaters, fornicators, thieves, and others from their past lives. God continues to deliver on His Word in Second Corinthians when He promised that we will become new creatures if we accept Him. He continues, to this day, change our hearts of stone to hearts of flesh. The same God who spoke the world into being, speaks our new hearts and characters into being because of His written Word. If God can transform others, you can bet He can transform you too. That’s how powerful His Word is. How can you not have anything but hope in His powerful Word?

Logic dictates that God will deliver in the future

Considering that God is so powerful that He delivered in the past and continues to deliver now, it would be illogical to think that we can’t place our hope in Him to deliver us in the future. Regardless of whatever challenges you may be facing now, you only need to look at God’s track record and His existing power and believe in His ability to deliver, transform, and heal. He has His own timetable. He has His own plan and Will. Submit to His Will and place your hope in Him. It isn’t your good works or your merit that will make Him deliver. Only His grace. Place your trust in His unquenchable mercy and Grace and the same power that parted the Red Sea or rained fire down on the altar at Mount Carmel will come through for you.

Trust God to see you through– “For nothing will be impossible with God”(Luke 1:37 NASB).

Christian Youth

Christian youth God has a plan , purpose and bright future for you. God knows your name and He sees your incredible value. God loves YOU !

Do you sometimes wonder what your purpose is in life? As a Christian youth, you may especially worry about your future and the direction of your life. But even when it seems like nothing is clear and that you exist only to exist, God is working you into His grand design. God loves each of us, and He has a plan, a purpose, and a bright future for even the least of us.

A Plan For You

Ever heard the saying, “Everything happens for a reason?” It’s true; everything that happens in our lives works to shape who we are and who we will be. God knows how we will turn out, and even when life seems scary and unstable, we can find peace in the fact that it’s all part of His perfect timing. The good things help to encourage us, and the bad things help us to strengthen our faith. Your life may be completely different in ten years; it may change direction, or shape. But the past is all part of God’s beautiful plan for you.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

-Romans 8:28 (NIV)

A Purpose For You

Despite what science may say, you are not just a bunch of particles floating around in space. You are not an accident, nor are you a mistake. You were specially made by God to fulfill a unique role on this planet. Don’t ever think that you don’t have purpose, because God gave you the power to impact lives for the better. He set you on this Earth to praise him and to encourage others in your own way. No matter what your circumstances are, God will find a way to work through you and help you find the purpose He has given you.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

-Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

A Bright Future For You

Life is full of surprises, and sometimes your current situation can be daunting. It can be hard to look forward to a bright future when everything in your past and present is dark. But you must be patient, as you have many years stretching before you, and God’s timing cannot coexist with yours. If you want something now, the chances are that God will make you wait for your own good. He has a vision for all of us, and even before we were born, He knew who we are going to be and what we are supposed to do. So if nothing seems to be going right, just remember that one day all of it will have helped create your bright future in God’s timing.

““For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.””

-Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

God gave us all purpose and a bright future so that we can be part of His awesome plan. We have reason to live because God needs us in His kingdom to praise Him and spread the good news to everyone we meet. Don’t let dark times break you down, for God uses them to make you stronger. Jesus was tempted too, and He went through bad times, especially at the cross. But He endured through it all, and so we should aspire to be like Him and focus on the purpose God has given us.

Christian Faith:Trust in God and Leave the Results to Him

Walking by faith is easy when we get the results we are looking for , isn’t it?  When our prayers are answered the way we want them to be and everything happens the way we want, it’s easy to have faith.

But the real test of Christian faith is in facing the silence of being “on hold” with God.  Faith is a hard teacher. Faith gives us the test before we get the lesson.  Sometimes we pray and pray to God and it seems like He might not be listening because we don’t get an answer right away.  But we aren’t looking at it properly when we think that way.  The truth is, sometimes God’s answer to our prayer is, “No,” or “Not right now.”

Because God is seeing the situations of our lives so much more clearly than we could ever hope to, He can make the right decisions for us, even if we can’t see that clearly sometimes. Remember , too, that faith means we believe in Him and His time table – we have to trust that He knows what is right for us and when it is right – and we must not ask him to prove it ! That’s not faith – that’s doubt.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
–  Hebrews 11:1

There’s a country song by popular singer Garth Brooks that was very popular a few years ago that has line in that says, “Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers , so remember when you’re talking to the Man upstairs, just because he doesn’t answer , it doesn’t mean He don’t care…”  In the song, the singer sees his old high school sweetheart and recalls that he prayed every night that God would let him marry this girl. Now he looks at his wife and thanks God that He didn’t answer those old prayers – because the Lord knew that the right woman was waiting for him.

Do you have that kind of faith in the Lord?  Can you pray and not be disappointed that sometimes what you are praying for isn’t what you get?  It’s hard, isn’t it?  But the Lord knows that it isn’t good for us to answer everybody’s prayer to win the lottery, or even every prayer to get a particular job.  Why?  Because it’s easy for us to forget that we only see things in the here and now – but God sees a plan for us that stretches far into the future and He’s planning for the rest of our life and into eternity.

Continue to pray, but do so in faith, knowing that God is with you in every moment.  Whether you are seeking employment, healing , new friendships, a renewal of love or a change in your own heart, give it time.  Don’t give in to impatience or demand that God do it “now”.  Trust in God to work in and through every circumstance you face and teach you something in every experience.  Leaving the results – and the timing – to God will enrich your life in ways you can’t foresee but that He has prepared for you out of His great and abiding love for you.

Remember the Powerful Benefits of Christian Faith:

●     Faith is the assurance that there will be answer to all we take to God in prayers.

●     Faith is holding to the blessings we know to be true, even when the world and our lives indicate otherwise.

●     Faith proclaims that nothing is impossible for us if we rely on the power of God to guide us through every situation.

●     Faith in God uplifts us and gives us the courage to move forward.

●     Faith in God will sustain us and bring us successfully through every crisis.

●     Faith in God means you do not doubt yourself.

“Have faith in God.  Truly I tell you if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.”
Mark 11:22-23

So the next time you pray, praise God, ask for His guidance and be willing to ask for what you need.  But remember that true faith requires that asking also meaning resting in the assurance that God will see to the results without your help.  Walk in faith and leave the results to God – He can handle it !  Honor Him by your Faith.
