The interesting thing about faith is that faith requires not knowing what will happen next or not seeing what is around the corner. That is the definition of faith-expecting something even if you aren’t sure or haven’t seen it yet. Interestingly enough, people practice faith all the time. When you turned on your tablet or computer to look at this website, you had faith that your device would boot up instead of blow up. When you sat down on the chair you’re using right now to view these letters on a screen, you had faith that the chair was properly constructed and won’t fall apart leading to your injury. The truth is, waking up every single day, people place their faith in the hands of others. Why not have faith on the one power that deserves your faith and won’t let you down? Why not have faith in Jesus? Think about it-products fail and people definitely fail. Yet you have faith in them. Why not have faith in a Power that can produce miracles and changes that humans can only imagine?
Why Faith? Why Now?
The biggest illusion in life is that we have a sense of control over our lives. If we only check the right boxes in the laundry list of life’s decisions, we have faith that things will turn out as expected. But life is what happens when you make other plans. People fail you. Friends betray you. Relatives disappoint you. You get frustrated with your job. The economy tanks. The bank’s foreclosure department knocks on your door. Things can head south very quickly. Yet people would rather place their trust in institutions that fail and people that fail. They would rather build their futures on the promises of things that are bound by mortality and the laws of physics. Ultimately, we have no control since the institutions we have faith in have no control as well. There is only one power that we can have faith in and who has shown again and again that He delivers-Jesus Christ.
Placing Your faith in The Eternal
When you place your faith in God, you are placing your faith in someone who has no limits. He made the laws of physics and he doesn’t have to follow them. He made the laws of logic, and he is above and beyond logical rules’ constrictions. This is how awesome and powerful He is. The creator has no creator. The creator obeys no restrictions since He is the only one who can impose real restrictions. God is infinite. As infinite as his love for us. How else can you explain the raw power of speaking worlds into existence? Or instantly creating tissues or muscle and bones and repairing nerves to heal paralytics, blind people, deaf mutes, and others?
Solid Rock You can Build Your Life on
Jesus’ transforming power has been documented for ages. He has turned murderers into lovers of the Word who suffered martyrdom gladly just so they can preach God’s word. He has turned anger-prone people into evangelists of love. He has liberated countless people from the prisons of addiction, negativity, bad attitudes, unforgiveness, abandonment issues, and a whole host of negative conditions. Jesus’ ability to heal and transform continues unabated to this day. Considering that track record, in light of the fact that many of the people transformed had tried other solutions and failed and had no hope, is there even a viable alternative? No drug, whether prescription or illegal, can give hope. No amount of money can give real security. No amount of sex can provide a real sense of acceptance. Only Jesus. Trust in His powerful Word. The same voice that uttered the world into existence spoke the written words of the Bible. Trust in those words since God himself said that His words don’t come back to Him void.
